Emilio Schuberth was the tailor whose destiny was written to become the founder of the Italian Fashion industry. Born in Napoli in 1904. From Napoli he relocate himself in Rome, but thanks to his bubbling creativity and his strong sense of fashion he reached speedy all the target locations for the fashion landscape of the time. From Paris to New York, passing by Berlin and many others. He travelled a lot across Asia, where he inspired himself with the color ranges and vibrations, but staying always loyal to the guidelines of the made in Italy, which in those years he was developing together with others.
THE GOLDEN AGE
Emilio Schuberth was renown to be ‘il sarto delle dive’ (the divas’ tailor). Some of his masterpieces were ideated to wear princess Soraya, Rita Hayworth, Ingrid Bergman, Bette Davis, Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, Gina Lollobrigida e Anna Magnani. All the women were dreaming about a Schuberth dress for their wedding and his name was flashed out in the invitation ‘bribe wedding dress made by Emilio Schuberth’. What all of them were looking into a Schuberth creation was not simply spectacular dresses, but the feeling of being a star.

Putting his own signature on each dress going on scene or playing the role of himself, the collaboration of Emilio Schuberth was very popular request for the movies of the ‘Hollywood sul Tevere’ (how Cinecitta’ – Rome movie industry was called)
